На русском кто то это видел? Насколько я понял по ответу на 7-й вопрос лежачее положение еще не сделано.
Exclusive Interview by www.oblivion-lost.com
As already announced, our Russian correspondent Rad-X had the opportunity to visit the developers in Kiev/Ukraine and talkshop with Oleg Yavorsky, senior PR manager, and other developers excklusively. He also asked “some” questions regarding S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
Oblivion-Lost.com: 1. Will any DirectX 8 Pixel Shader be used (Pixel Shader 1.1 to Pixel Shader 1.3)?
Oleg Yavorsky: Yes.
o-l.com: 2. Is GSC content with how the project is merging?
Oleg:: Yes, we are very happy with how the project is shaping up, moreover all the essential aspects have been implemented.
o-l.com: 3. How well ist he X-Ray Engine performing at the moment (frames per second, etc.)?
Oleg: According to specialists’ estimations we are at least 6 months ahead of other technologies.
o-l.com: 4. What is the latest release date?
Oleg: Q1 2005.
o-l.com: 5. What is the current planning concerning the Co-operative mode? What exactly are the problems that you have to face?
Oleg: Okay, (takes a deep breath), hopefully I am saying this for the final time, there is no Co-op mode planned for the final game!
In order to implement it we would require more time since this is not an easy thing to do. If we were making a tightly sсripted, utterly predictable FPS that never varies from a linear path, then it could be done.
However we are not that kind of game and we have never claimed to be that kind of game. We’ve always said that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. offers freedom of movement and an unsсripted experience. Retaining that style of plan and trying to add Co-op would fundamentally change the game. The trading and communication stops working the way it should and the game then becomes something like a Battlefield clone or even an MMORPG.
o-l.com: 6. Has a monster from the Monster Ball Contest, which we held in co-operation with you, been implemented into the game?
Oleg: It’s in progress.
o-l.com: 7. We have still not seen any screenshots of the prone position. Has that feature not been implemented yet?
Oleg: No, we haven’t implemented it.
o-l.com: 8. The sniper sight is very calm when one watches through it. Will it move to simulate the stalker’s breathing and movement?
Oleg: We have already improved that. Now it’s moving rather realistically.
o-l.com: 9. When will we get to see screenshots or a trailer of the DX 9 outdoor areas?
Oleg: We’ve shown some DX9 stuff already, admittedly indoors. We’re working hard on the whole game, not just the renderer, so we haven’t finalised any future PR plans on any aspect of the game, let alone DX9.
o-l.com: 10. Are there any peaceful creatures in the zone, except crows?
Oleg: Yes, but this will remain a surprise .
o-l.com: 11. Will there be options to hide the HUD and crosshair?
Oleg: Technically and practically it’s already possible and we use this option when necessary.
o-l.com: 14. Well, now that you have decided to not have a co-op mode, no vehicles and just small maps in the multi-player part, don’t you think that the multi-player part of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will eventually turn out to be a bad clone of Counter Strike? What happened to the originality and the multi-player modes like “Humans vs Mutants”?
Oleg: It will definitely not be a clone. Our CS-experts have enough expertise to develop an involving and original multiplayer part. They are creating a game which will be no less interesting than CS, as well as have original modes of play. We’ll provide more details later.
o-l.com: 15. There is a general fear that due to the invisible deadline (Christmas 2004) you will neglect the implementation of important details of the game. Do you believe that you could make a better game out of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. if you had a further development time of 6 months?
Oleg: Invisible deadline?!? I’ve never seen such an invisible deadline, but I guess that’s the point!!
We want to create a good game. We are giving it our best shot and also want, just like you of course, to have the game ready as fast as possible. The technology always continues to make progress. However, do you want us to rival Duke Nukem Forever and keep working and working, adding more and more features, or instead have a game in our hands that we can then give to the world?
o-l.com: 16. Mr. Savchenko said that one could climb into the helicopter. Does this mean that one can hide in the helicopter and fly with the military NPC stalkers?
Oleg: No, you will only be able to hide.
o-l.com: 17. Is it possible to climb on top of the crane that is located next to the sarcophagus?
Oleg: No… But you can play with things like Lenin’s statute, for instance, smashing it to bits.
o-l.com:: Thanks for your time.
Oleg: Sure!
